Home far from home, near the Hospital, for Little Worriors
Nyano Angalo, in collaboration with the local NGO Brahmasthani Awareness Society (BAS), works to develop a pediatric unit in a house near the only public pediatric hospital in the country for small warriors who are going through a serious illness. We cannot allow the lack of resources to prevent them from receiving the medical care they deserve.
PURPOSE OF THE PEDIATRIC uNIT
BAS has a house that offers the service of shelter for people from rural areas of Nepal who are going through a serious illness. Nyano Angalo collaborates with BAS to develop in this same house a place for the small warriors and their families to stay while they require medical care in Kathmandu, where the only pediatric hospital in the country is located.
The habilitation of this house aims to prevent the lack of resources from impeding access to medical care for those children from rural areas who need it.

The little warriors and their families will be the direct beneficiaries of this unit. We want to provide them with a safe, welcoming and sustainable home where they can find strength and mutual support. We are committed to offering health access opportunities to those children and their families whose home is far from the capital and require medical care at the Kathmandu Public Pediatric Hospital.

The NGO Brahmasthani Awareness Society (BAS) has existed locally (in Nepal) since 2001, working to address the challenges of centralized medical care in Kathmandu. While the government provides free treatment to low-resource people, it lacks safe accommodation, which forces patients to live on the street without food or shelter.
To overcome this situation, BAS offers free food, lodging and medical assistance to disadvantaged patients referred to public hospitals in Kathmandu. After 12 years of effort, BAS founded the Aarogya Patient Shelter, ensuring that vulnerable patients receive care with dignity and support.
OUR COLLABORATIVE EFFORT
The partnership between the Brahmasthani Awareness Society (BAS) and Nyano Angalo (NA) focuses on providing a nurturing space for sick children and their families near Kathmandu’s hospitals.
BAS will allocate an area within its existing facilities to house children requiring medical treatment in the city, while Nyano Angalo will contribute to the development of a specialized unit for children and their families, offering health counseling, training, and fundraising initiatives to enhance pediatric care.
Together, both organizations will work to improve healthcare access for children from rural regions, ensuring they receive the necessary treatment without financial barriers.
