Nyano Angalo Awarded the 3rd Flor Sirera Prize for International Cooperation!
We are immensely happy and proud to announce that our CHC project has been awarded the 3rd Flor Sirera Prize for International Cooperation, granted by the COIB. This recognition is a great boost to our work in improving access to child health in rural areas of Nepal and motivates us to continue working even harder.

What is the CHC project?
In rural Nepal, access to medical care is limited, especially for children. While the government carries out annual vaccination and deworming campaigns in schools, we believe more can be done. The CHC project was born with the vision of developing a sustainable long-term child community health system.
Our proposal focuses on expanding the government initiative with:
- Basic health check-ups: Carried out directly in schools, bringing medical care to where children need it.
- Child health record book: A fundamental tool for recording and monitoring each child’s health status, allowing for more personalized care.
- Nurse leadership: Empowering local nurses to lead and manage the program in schools, ensuring its long-term sustainability.
A long-term approach:
The project will be developed in two phases:
- Phase 1 (3 years): With the collaboration of international volunteer nurses, we will implement annual health check-ups and train local nurses.
- Phase 2 (3 years): Nyano Angalo will offer continuous support and supervision, without the presence of international volunteers, to ensure the program’s continuity and sustainability over time.
An award that drives us forward:
This award is a recognition of the effort of the entire Nyano Angalo team, local communities, and our collaborators. It drives us to continue working with passion and dedication to build a healthier future for the children of Nepal. We deeply thank the COIB for this important recognition and all the people who make our work possible.
