Help us improve the health of children living in the most remote mountain areas among the Himalayas

About Nepal

Nepal is a beautiful country surrounded by the Himalayas. As a blessing that it is, it feces challenges in terms of mobility and accessibility. And the main access to healthcare is in Kathmandu, creating a big gap in terms of accessibility between rural and urban areas.

Our Goal

Our goal is to provide equal opportunities around the country in children’s health care. With our work, we aim to reduce health inequalities during childhood in Nepal.

Who are we looking for?

Nurses & Medical staff

We are looking for nursing/medical staff who are passionate and open minded. If you are a health professional and are interested in sharing your knowledge with health personnel in other parts of the world, we need you!

What will you do as a volunteer in Nepal?

Community Health Assistance

As a volunteer in Nepal, you will have the opportunity to carry out health education programs for healthcare workers in the most remote primary care centers in the country. Your role will be to train local professionals and improve child care in these communities.

How?

Volunteering is always done by local staff, which means that the work is established in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams. Each volunteer will work alongside Nepalese health personnel in order to carry out the necessary community interventions.

Research

At Nyano Angalo in Nepal we are trying to generate new data on the country’s child population, at the same time we want to implement the Integrated Care of Prevalent Childhood Illnesses (IMCI) strategy proposed by the WHO. To develop and implement this strategy, we believe it is interesting and enriching to have different perspectives. That is why we want our volunteers to also be involved in the study process.

& Where?

Our job is to train and train where the most health needs are detected. That is why our volunteers travel throughout the country. There is no single location. Depending on the time of year you come, you will find us working in one place or another. Contact us to learn more about locations.
